1:1 Creative Tuition

I offer thoughtful, creative 1:1 art tuition for children aged 8+ from my home-based studio just outside Bath.

These sessions are designed to help children grow in confidence, curiosity, and creative expression through a wide range of art and making activities. Alongside drawing and painting, children are encouraged to explore collage, textiles, mixed-media, visual storytelling, clay, print, photography, and sketchbook development using a rich variety of materials and processes.

I believe art is about far more than “being good at drawing”. Creative practice can help children build confidence, develop critical thinking skills, think imaginatively, and discover their own unique visual voice in a relaxed and encouraging environment.

Sessions are tailored to each child’s interests, personality, and stage of development, whether they simply love being creative, would benefit from extra encouragement and confidence-building, or are developing portfolios for school applications, such as visual art scholarships or GCSE preparation.

As a trained teacher and Professor of Creative Methods with many years’ experience in education and creative practice, I bring a thoughtful and individual approach to supporting young people’s creativity and learning. I particularly enjoy helping children connect art-making to storytelling and self-expression.

Sessions take place in my cosy Blue Pheasant Art Studio and gardens - a calm and inspiring space filled with materials, textiles, papers, books, and creative resources.
